Fun fact: I have an English Literature undergrad degree and considered myself a writer before going back to school for counseling.

I had a lot of confidence in my writing while growing up, but upon graduating at 23, I suddenly realized I had no idea what I was talking about. I had graduated right into what you could call the “Conscious Incompetence” stage of the Dunning-Kruger Effect. I knew that I knew very little about the world, about people, and even about myself. But I wanted to learn.

Learning is a forever-process, not a finish line. But 15 years after undergrad, after graduate school, after going to my own therapy, after becoming a parent, after hearing hundreds of clients’ stories - I have learned so much from so many people. And I am thinking more and more about how I might like to write about some of these things.

Stay tuned.
